The flat is entirely furnished in the ubiquitous style of Communist-era Bulgaria, with items from antique shops and flea markets, and objects inherited from benevolent family members and friends. Through its furniture, TV set, radio, cutlery, kitchen utensils, textiles, toys, accessories and artworks, the apartment's interior offers visitors insight into the routines of work, leisure, school and home life in the days of Reagan and Gorbachev.
