Hone your fashion design skills

Learn to design a pair of shoes with master shoemakers Deborah Carré and James Ducker. You will use a low-heeled last, which is a wooden block on which shoes are made. During this 7-hour class, you will touch upon the subjects, such as taping up the last, the key elements to consider when designing, opening and fastenings, tips on drawing in curves and straight lines and choosing leather and hardware. After a day of using a pencil, dividers and tape measure, your design will be sent away for the uppers to be made and transformed into a pair of shoes, which will be shipped to you. Please choose the size you would like to work on six weeks before the class.
