Get acquainted with wood

Brothers Sahand and Navid Gholipour love to experiment with Eastern forms and Western modern design in their woodwork. They also love sharing their know-how with others by inviting them to participate in a hands-on introductory workshop to woodturning. Sahand and Navid will provide a brief exploration of different types of wood, grain structure and how different types of wood impact their projects. Afterwards, the brothers will discuss most commonly used woodturning tools and gauges, and take the participants on a guided turning session so that each of them can have a go at making a wooden piece on a lathe.
