Discover the historical processes of typography

Since 1988, the atelier Le Cadratin has been preserving the ancient craft of typography, thanks to a team of dedicated craftspeople eager to share their passion. All this knowledge is passed on to people through guided visits, available both in French and in English. A visit of the workshop is an opportunity to discover the old-fashioned workspace which to this day works as it always has, with original vintage machines. The visit is followed by a demonstration in typography where participants can compose a short text by hand, using lead characters. The text will then be printed on a manual press, giving each person the chance to leave with their own handmade copy. From 8 to 20 people the price is 250 CHF per group.
