An introduction to cobalt painting

Take up the challenge of painting in the classic Gzhel fashion in this creative masterclass. Guiding you through the process will be some of the most seasoned and accomplished Gzhel artisans. Learn to paint a semi-finished porcelain item in cobalt oxide, which then will be glazed and fired for you. You can choose to paint a bowl, a vase or figurine and try out the famous rose pattern or create your own decoration. The finished item can normally be collected around two weeks after the masterclass. Booking is essential. Scheduled masterclasses start at 11.30am, 1.30pm and 3.30pm daily, except Mondays. Price from 500 rubles per person for a group masterclass, depending on the chosen item.
