Advanced sculpture and firing skills

Renato, as a ceramics sculptor, kiln builder, author and teacher, is an eternal explorer. This advanced level ceramic sculpture and wood firing workshop involves preparing different types of clay according to the desired colour, texture, size and firing temperature of the sculpture. Different building techniques will be taught depending on the personal project of each student. Participants will experience how wood firing can intensify the expression of sculptures and learn how to play with special effects brought about by the flames and ash. The workshop takes place either in Cerdeira – Home for Creativity (Lousã), or in Angra do Heroismo.
