Learn to paint ceramics by hand

Artisans Gabriela Aritio and Carmen Muñoz offer a regular course in ceramic hand painting at their atelier, in which they teach the theory and practice of the water technique. With their support and the help of other external specialists, students learn to paint on functional or decorative objects with different brushes, special pencils, silicate oxides, coloured glazes and using a ceramic kiln. Participants also practise making borders and applying various polishes and lacquers with the help of the potter's wheel. Finally, they can grasp the basics of illustration and design, such as the proportions of motifs and the harmonious combination of their colours. At the end of their training, they will compose pictorial images entirely by hand. Everyone will do this at their own pace, according to their level, but also in line with their expectations and progress. The course consists of a weekly class that is three hours long.
