An introduction to book restoration

During this unique visit, Amandine Camp will introduce you to the profession of a book restorer. Located in Avignon, her workshop specialises in the conservation and restoration of graphic documents and books. Wallpapers, prints, manuscripts, maps; Amandine specialises in them all. From diagnosis to treatment, participants will have the chance to discover the different stages her work involves. They will notably learn that, as true scientists, analysis is an essential step in the restorer's process. Drawing on her experience as an art bookbinder and paper maker, Amandine will also share her distinctive approach to the craft.
