Tour of the textile workshop and design studio

1 hour Max 10 peopleFree

Discover the history of Mourne Textiles with a tour of the studio. The business was established in 1954 at the foothills of the Mourne Mountains in County Down by Norwegian textile designer, Gerd Hay-Edie. Her descendants still run the business and work from the original studio, purpose-built by Gerd all those years ago. The internal layout of the mill has not been altered and many of the looms used today have stood in the workshop for more than five decades. In many ways, the mill is a working museum, showcasing the history of this innovative business. Mourne Textiles operates with a true respect for craftsmanship, artistry and excellence.
