Discover the history of bell making

The historic Museum of Bells was founded in 1999 and named after his Holiness Pope John Paul II, who visited Campane Marinelli in 1995. Adjacent to the foundry, the museum houses precious documents and manuscripts testifying to the history and use of bells throughout the centuries - including a 1664 Dutch edition of De Tinitinnabulis considered the bible of bell casting, as well as a vast collection of bronze holy objects, among others a bell dating back to the year 1000. Visitors are encouraged to browse the bells and tools and watch a video on the making and casting process. The museum also includes a souvenir shop, selling bells in small scale, bronze sculptures and postcards. The museum is open every day except Sunday afternoon. Due to covid the capacity is reduced from 100 people to 30 people. The adult ticket price is 5 euros, children aged between 6 years and 13 years pay 3,50 euros.
