Plumage Vaso 06

A vase handcrafted in Limoges porcelain and ceramics. To capture the nuanced effect of overlapping bird feathers, the Plumage vase is cast in a mould, to create a bas-relief veining. The surface of the vase is then hand-decorated with intricate enamelling. Decorative touches include precious shimmering lustres, gold laminae and elegant textures that are enhanced by the smooth opacity of the porcelain.

BottegaNove founder, ceramicist Christian Pegoraro, is building on the illustrious heritage of Nove, a town in Venice famous for its artistic pottery heritage that dates back to the 18th century. Christian began experimenting with new ceramic manufacturing techniques based on the ancient traditions to develop BottegaNove’s tiles and vase collections. The Plumage Vaso collection, inspired by the overlapping patterns, shapes and iridescent colour palettes of birds’ feathers, is a fine example of this.
Designed by Cristina Celestino, Plumage explores the artisanal ceramic traditions of both porcelain mosaic and artistic pottery. Combining these two artisanal traditions results in a three-dimensional surface of the vase that allows for personalisation in the nuances, colours and matching of the shapes.
