Pillars Collection
The Pillars Collection is a story of lost roots and the attempt to trace them back. Inspired by the ornamentation of traditional Bulgarian and Byzantine bindings, this collection has been bound in a style that imprints memories and reveals secrets of the past while giving birth to new potential. The books are bound in gold-tooled goatskin and fitted with gemstone laden silver corners, clasps and other elements.

These books were inspired by the art and craft that Kalin & Ivo saw on their first trip to Florence. They decided not to imitate anything, but instead try to find what would rival that beauty, but inspired by their own history, with a question in mind: “What a Bulgarian book would/should look like?”.
The Pillars collection of books has been exhibited in the Regional History Museum Sofia, Bulgaria, as part of their first-ever solo exhibition in 2019. Inn 2021, they travelled to South Korea to be part of the Jinju Traditional Craft Biennale. Now the books have come full circle and come back to their original inspiration – Italy.
