The photograph is a close-up of a wooden box as seen at the atelier of the Japanese National Living Treasure Kenji Suda. The mother-of-pearl inlay evokes stardust in the night sky. The maxim by which Suda pursues woodwork is "purity and grace", which extends to an unadulterated and graceful way of life as a fundamental value. Creativity in his work is thus an intrinsic reflection of his life.
