UK-based paper artist Gill Wilson has been involved in papermaking for over 30 years. She exclusively uses plant fibre in her work. The material is transformed through largely traditional methods to produce a highly versatile medium that can be drawn, poured or lifted onto screens before drying. Gill uses this medium to create complex layers, which become more sculptural as they are built up. The paper worker always seeks to maintain a sense of purity and simplicity, reflecting the natural, sustainable origin of the material. Gill has produced work for exhibitions and architectural/interior projects in Japan, France, Spain, Belgium, Israel, UK, USA and UEA.
