Mariantonia Urru

It’s a family affair at M/U with the matriarch, founder, and master weaver, Mariantonia Urru at the helm of the company she started in 1981. She learned the craft of carpet-making as a child, and today Mariantonia works alongside her four children and eight grandchildren, confident that their legacy as master weavers will continue, at least for another generation. M/U’s unique rug designs take their inspiration from archaeology to the festive surroundings of ancient Sardinia. Their delicate handiwork combines tradition and modern technologies to transform these sensations into pieces of art that tell the stories of this fascinating region.
