Inspired by founder Jehanara Knowles’s upbringing between Delhi and London, Kam Ce Kam fuses the aesthetics of India and the UK, bringing the rich heritage of Indian craft to life through unique handmade modern and contemporary pieces. The Kam Ce Kam design ethos showcases craft and techniques that have evolved over time, and represents a new style of craft for today’s generation. The Hindi Kam Ce Kam translates to "at the very least", and guided by this philosophy Kam Ce Kam is developing a way for people to visualise possibilities in crafts that are rooted in the history of traditional culture, while uplifting craftspeople, and pairing honest materials and cutting-edge design. A conscious drive to utilise natural and sustainably sourced materials lies at the heart of Kam Ce Kam’s production.

Kam Ce Kam's collections celebrate the unrivalled skills of local artisans by elevating their craft with a focus on the future. Each piece is inspired by a component of traditional craft while telling the story of the maker and the materials used. Beginning with the history of the skills behind the artisan, the designs incorporate age-old techniques such as cane weaving and stone carving. The process continues with the materials, where timber, stone, leather and cane are organically fused with seat pads filled with coir and tabletops created from marble offcuts. Celebrating craft and techniques that have evolved over time, the Kam Ce Kam pieces represent a new craftsperson for this generation, striving for timeless beauty and quality that is born out of a desire for tradition and innovation.
