Jean-Pierre Cottet-Dubreuil

Richard OrfévreSilversmith

Some children collect comics, others collect stickers to exchange with friends and then there is Jean-Pierre Cottet-Dubreuil, who as a child loved to keep the catalogues of the great silverware Maisons. "When, many years later, my first student job was with a famous Parisian silversmith, my childhood dream came true," he laughs today in his cute workshop in the Marais in Paris. "I've always wanted to do this job; originally from Champagne, I came to Paris for my studies. In 2002, after my diploma, I had the chance to join the RICHARD Orfèvre Maison." This workshop, founded in 1910, has become the last French artisanal manufacturer of silver flatware. In 2012, the young passionate man bought this company and instilled it with a new creative dynamic, without distorting its heritage. His love of beauty was fulfilled when the Parisian craftsman first came to Venice. He quickly fell in love with the Venetian Murano glass chandeliers. "Venice has always been a source of inspiration for me. I often go there to recharge and inspire myself. I am very proud of my latest creation, a collection of Venetian candlesticks."
