Andrea Walsh studied fine art before completing an MA in glass at Edinburgh College of Art. She has been awarded several residencies, including the ‘Artist Into Industry Residency’ for which she was based at the Wedgwood ceramics factory in Stoke-on-Trent, UK. Here she was able to learn directly from master craftsmen and had privileged access to historical archives. She went on to set up her studio in Edinburgh in 2005. Since then, her work has been an exploration of the box and vessel form, using a range of materials including ceramics, glass and metal. She creates exquisitely crafted and timeless pieces. Her work has attracted critical acclaim from curators and academics and is held in private and public collections worldwide, including the Victoria & Albert Museum, London.
