© Sara Bran
Sara Bran joined a sailing expedition to the Antarctic Peninsula in 2018, and wanted to memorialise the beauty and biodiversity of the polar regions. This white gold plate is cut with the hand saw, then hand chiselled and chased. It is a powerful example of the capabilities of her gold lace technique. The molten glass base lets light shine through the openwork and illuminates the intricate details.
