C(h)oral is a vase made of polychrome ceramic with colors ranging from red to green. It represents a marine organism populated by thousands of human beings and evokes the rebirth of the souls of people who lost their lives at sea.

Ceramics with an African soul
- • Victor discovered art thanks to his father, a painter
- • He moved to Italy from Cameroon to study ceramics
- • His works are strongly influenced by African traditions
Victor Fotso Nyie has been living in Italy since 2012. He left his native Cameroon to study ceramics: "In my country, there are neither university degrees in this subject nor places where you can buy high-quality materials, lathes or kilns. In villages, people use unglazed pottery to make pots and other things for everyday use." After seeing artisans manufacturing ceramics in 2007, whilst visiting the School of Applied Arts in Mbalmayo – where he had planned to go to study painting – he knew it was exactly what he wanted to do with his life. Five years later, Victor moved to Ravenna to study mosaics at the Academy of Fine Arts. Since then, he has attended a two-year ceramic course, then obtained a master degree in sculpture. Since 2017, he has split his time between working in one of the historical ceramic workshops in Faenza and in his own studio.

Il patriarca (The patriarch)
Il patriarca is a sculpture made of glazed ceramic and platinum that depicts the head of an elderly and serious man. His gaze is turned to the left and the grimace of his mouth reveal a general expression of dissent and criticism.

Observer les Étoiles is a sculpture made of terracotta and gold representing a little girl sleeping peacefully. She holds a small golden statue in her arms, an evocation of ancestral guardian spirits and a symbol of her culture.

Suivre ses Rêves
Suivre ses Rêves is composed of two sculptures, inspired by his twin brothers, made of polychrome ceramic and depicting two kids holding up a table loaded with golden idols. The black earth of their bodies joins the polychromy of children's clothing, culminating in the preciousness of the load carried.

Vaso Pisa
Vaso Pisa is a vase made of majolica. The white colour with blue shades, the particular shape and the dynamic structure give it a singular appearance. It is covered in vibrant and heterogeneous human faces.
