Behind the Tallinn old town, there is the lively area of Kalamaja where you can find the Stella Soomlais atelier, founded by Stella Runnel in 2011. In 2004 she was tailoring unique bags for her customers upon request, but as her business grew, so did her company, brand, and collections of different bags and accessories. Now, this atelier is a pioneer of sustainable and responsible leather use that is run by multiple talented local leatherworkers. The noble concept of these craftsmen is to design fashionable and sustainable leather products, based upon the principles of a circular economy.

Since 2015, they have proved how a leather atelier can be managed sustainably, and are currently looking forward to becoming a zero-waste and climate-positive brand in the upcoming years. This means anything that Stella Soomlais atelier produces and does is well thought through and serves the common good of the environment. Their brand not only produces their goods but helps other brands by producing custom made works tailored to their needs!
