This white porcelain bowl has gold leaf kintsugi-like scars. Working with very thin slabs of clay gives a delicate look and a lightweight feel to every bowl. They are partially glazed, and fired twice to 1,255°C. This Kintsugi is an adaptation of the original Japanese technique, made with 22-karat gold leaf on resin to treat every bowl that comes out broken or damaged from the studio’s kiln.

After obtaining a degree in business studies in the UK, Silvia Granata understood that she would never be happy among graphs and numbers. When she arrived home in Italy, she started working as an accountant. In 2007, after taking a Raku pottery course, she fell completely in love with ceramics. Since then, as a self-taught artisan, she has been working in ceramics and porcelain sculpture, alongside the accountancy work. However, at the beginning of 2019, she finally quit her office job and became a full time ceramicist, working both on sculpture and tableware. Today she creates handmade ceramic and porcelain plates, bowls, pots, cups, vases and design objects. "I love the cosy comfortable feeling of a beautiful home, and I wish to fill it with plenty of beautiful objects!"

Brush limited edition vessels
This limited edition set of bowls, vases and bottles are made in grey porcelain and adorned with genuine gold luster. Created using the slip casting technique with coloured porcelain slip, decorated with spontaneous brush strokes. Only partially glazed to show the beauty and smoothness of naked porcelain, fired to 1,255°C in electric kiln. The gold luster is applied and fired to a lower temperature. All materials used are certified for food use.
