Wild and delicate

  • • Philippa launched her flower business in 2009
  • • She has collaborated with famous brands and museums worldwide
  • • In 2018, she arranged flowers for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s royal wedding

Before 2009, Philippa Craddock had never worked with flowers. "After the birth of my first child, I started experimenting with them and instantly knew I wanted to be a flower designer full time." Completely self-taught but extremely talented, she soon gained international renown for her unique style, that she describes as "elegant, natural, wild English countryside botanicals". As a result, important collaborations spiralled. "I have experienced many memorable moments in my career: I worked with some of the most celebrated fashion designers in the world, created an installation for the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, opened a concession within Selfridges & Co department store, created a collection of accessories with Matches fashion, spoke within art galleries and institutions and arranged flowers for weddings and events all around the world."

Blossom

Large cherry blossom branches are elegantly arranged into a heavy-based glass vase. Craddock allowed the spring branches to extend upwards and outwards to create a dramatic display and obtain an interesting shape, structure and a sense of movement and flow to the design.

Winter vase

A winter bouquet of hazel branches, hellebores and berries, beautifully arranged into a glass vase. The design is wild and loose, perfect for adding a festive touch to an entrance hall or console table.

Potted Narcissus

A ceramic bowl full of beautiful, fragrant “Bridal crown” narcissi. Gnarly branch stems offer an interesting layer to the design and provide a support for the stems. The soil is covered with moss, that both adds a lovely finishing touch and helps to retain moisture.

Summer bouquet

A few leftovers from larger arrangements – a purple dhalia and matching scabiosa, wild carrot flowers and white snakeroots – are arranged together into a plain glass vase, becoming a simple yet beautiful bouquet. The colour palette goes from deep purple to pink, finally fading into white.

Foliage wreath

Light, delicate colours and an intricate texture for this atypical, non-traditional Christmas wreath of wax flowers, asparagus fern and other foliage, where the green of the moss is punctuated by soft pink touches. A cream-colored ribbon adds the finishing touch to the thick, luscious arrangement, which is meant to convey positivity and tenderness.
