Looking for resonance

  • • Nathalie studied graphic and textile design
  • • Her creations focus on pure and intangible elements
  • • She is optimistic about the future of crafts

When Nathalie Van der Massen finished her master's in Graphic Design, she got the chance to work at the TextielMuseum in Tilburg. There she was so inspired by all the techniques and materials that she decided to do another master's in Textile Design. After graduating she was invited to do research inspired by the archives of the Flanders Architecture Institute, which functioned as a catalyst to focus on textiles in the context of architecture and interiors. She also did internships in the fashion industry with Christian Wijnants and Hilde Frunt. At first she was combining graphic jobs with her own creative practice until 2018 when she decided to start her own design studio at Haptic House, a creative coworking space in Antwerp.
