Preciously complex and meaningful

  • • Miruna opened her jewellery making studio in 2018
  • • The fusion between a jewel and its wearer fascinates her
  • • She is passionate about experimenting with techniques and materials

After many years in the corporate world, Miruna Belicovici became a goldsmith just before the age of 40. “Although I had an extensive legal and business management background, I have always felt attracted to the creative industries. Therefore, changing careers appeared as a natural next step in my becoming,” she states. It all started with the desire to translate her thoughts into a piece of jewellery designed for herself, which later led her to attend a specialised school. In her work, Miruna uses traditional techniques, as well as unconventional approaches in designing and manufacturing contemporary pieces. She enjoys exploring the immense creative possibilities, the rigour and the preciousness of jewellery making, often creating mixed media art objects that ingeniously combine precious metals with alternative materials.

Inamorata

The Inamorata ring from the Inamorata collection, 2021 is about boldly exposing all the facets of femininity, about the grace and roughness of being a woman. The generous and irregular silver sphere, adorned with accents of gold and scarlet red encapsulate a woman’s unabridged beauty, wonder and mostly scars, which she graciously wears in plain sight, openly exposing all her inner power and fragility.

Earrings, Delight collection, 2020

Similar yet not identical, each earring is a delicate twist of silver and golden textures, resembling the natural intertwining of new leaves that adorn branches in the spring. These earrings are unique and entirely handmade using casting and traditional construction techniques.

A pearly bloom

An unexpected bloom of crimson garnets and intense green pearls alongside white silver leaves, these earrings from Miruna Belicovici's Delight collection, 2021 seem to effortlessly erupt into a colourful inflorescence. They are entirely handmade using casting and traditional construction techniques.

The way of the flower

This ring from the Delight collection, 2021 embodies the beauty of imperfection and impermanence, mirrored in a delicate bud emerging from a weaving of leaves that seem to dance around your finger. The natural simplicity of the almost raw silver textures is balanced by bright golden accents. It is entirely handmade using casting and traditional construction techniques.

The Joker

All dressed up in flamboyant colours and organic lace, the Joker ring from Miruna Belicovici's Harlequin collection, 2021 is playfully inviting its wearer to discover hidden textures, pearls in unexpected places. In the middle of this seemingly whimsical and yet elegant ring, an opal is hidden in plain sight, trapped in precious gold: the fiery heart of the Joker itself.
