The upper part of this vessel is a plate that reminds us of a flower. The fig wood used was particularly gnarled and therefore full of interesting patterns. Missing parts of wood add to the dramatic impression. Walnut root wood was used for a dark and solid foot, which is a support and smooth counterpoint to the irregular upper part.

This is a hand-turned bowl, made of hard walnut root wood. It represents a special challenge, but it allows for precise shaping and enables exquisitely smooth side walls.

This round shaped bowl on a small foot was made from walnut wood that had a lot of sapwood. It was stained with turquoise blue and white pigments, that allow the wooden base to shine through. In contrast with the blue and white hues are the golden rim and foot, that add a bit of festivity to the look.

Almost round in shape, this small bowl shows the annual growth rings of the wood it is made from. The line shows the separation between the sapwood and the heartwood. This simple form is made interesting by one addition: a brilliant red foot.

This is a hand turned wooden vessel. The outside is painted with blue and gold pigments. The rim is accented with Renaissance-like gold paint.
