From father to son
- • Maximilian takes dozens of hours to tailor a suit

- • His source of inspiration is the exchanges with his sons
One could hardly find a better example of a craftsman transferring his craft to another generation – Maximilian Mucska and his two sons Patrik and Erik are the ideal examples. Maximilian began mastering his craft already in 1978 in a state-owned enterprise. At the same time he was developing his tailor skills in his own workshop and was therefore more than ready to open his own shop shortly after the Velvet revolution in 1989. He began a fruitful collaboration with the Theater an der Wien in Vienna and later started to transfer his craft to his two sons. Today, Maximilian Mucska Tailors is a well-established tailor shop in the heart of Bratislava with a strong dedication to bespoke tailoring – clothing made to the specification of every individual buyer.

The Tailcoat
The Tailcoat was inspired by Fred Astair’s famous tailcoats and was commissioned for an Opera Ball in Bratislava. The cut of the tailcoat respects the traditional craftsmanship of early 20th century tailoring. It took over 90 hours of work to handcraft this elegant evening garment.

Elegance in the streets of Bratislava
This wide shoulder-cut suit with shoulder padding and the drape cut for easy-wearing comfort was inspired by an admiration for the elegance of suits from the 1930s. Maximilian Mucska places a special emphasis on handcrafting suits that move easily with their wearer.
