The name Lasvit is composed of the Czech words for 'Love' and 'Light'. The company was founded in 2007, yet is part of the long glassmaking history of Northern Bohemia. The founder Leon Jakimič has great respect for the glassmaking craft which has been in his family for six generations. At its workshop at Lindava, Lasvit connects the expertise of skilled craftsmen with modern technology and a close collaboration with internationally renowned designers.

Lasvit tableware products, decorative glass and designer lights are available in a showroom in the headquarters at Nový Bor, Prague and through retailers. Lasvit has a partnership with retailers in most of the EU states, and its products are displayed in retail shops in US, Middle East region, Russia, India and South East Asia as well. Their tailor made lighting installations shine in more than 2,200 hotels, private residences, cruise ships and other public and private spaces all over the world.
