Katherine Huskie's craft consists of creating exciting and tactile glass objects that make the viewer want to engage with the art. Inspired by nature, sea forms, and repeating patterns, she crafts highly skillful, passionate, and immensely beautiful glass works. Katherine is a renowned master of glassblowing with objects gracing many exhibitions around the world. Her glass works are very wholesome thanks to the great attention to the pattern-building that Katherine gives to each piece. She is constantly innovating and developing her techniques, seeking to evolve and find new ways to craft glass pieces. Echinus
Echinus is created by blowing a spherical form and then laying strips of molten glass down the side of the form, one at a time. Once the molten glass is added, Katherine Huskie then uses her tweezers and manipulates each strand to create the distinctive texture.
