Made to outlive us all

  • • The first object Juraj made is still serving its purpose
  • • He is inspired by various smells and sights
  • • His first apprentice was his own daughter

Juraj Krajčovič has always been fascinated by wood. During high school he worked part-time in a wood workshop and later built his own small workshop in his parents’ house. He then studied wood sciences and technology in Zvolen, but didn't finish his studies in the end – the desire to actually make was stronger than the desire to study, a feeling that has never disappeared. These days, Juraj loves to sit on an old chair in his workshop and spend time just looking at the newest product he's made, gathering ideas. Ideas for products that will outlive us and even our children, so that our planet will not become a dumping ground for useless objects.

Walnut bee conference table

The top of this stained walnut wood conference table has been hand carved with tiny geometric cells to form a honeycomb pattern. The cells are filled in with honey-coloured epoxy resin to give a touch of real honeycomb. For the table legs, Juraj Krajčovič built a dominant leg at the front, welded from iron cells, and two minimalist legs at the back. The honeycomb is also intended as a storage space.

Serving platter with lavender and bee

This serving platter is handcrafted from a recycled oak barrel. Juraj Krajčovič worked the platter's surface with a metal brush. It is treated with natural oil, so it is safe for contact with food. Suitable for serving fruit or cakes, it will stand out on every table and will definitely impress with its hand carved lavender and bee.

Old oak beams mirror

These mirrors are made of old oak beams dating from 1878. The massive frame works perfectly in simple, minimalist houses. The beams were gently brushed, treated against woodworm and then oiled.
