Handwoven from 100% merino lambswool, the Jazz scarves are fully reversible with a playful arrangement of triangles and stripes on each side in shades of mint and teal with flashes of magenta and pale yellow. Each scarf is hand-stitched and washed to give a luxuriously soft yet secure finish.

Zero-waste woven textiles

Heather Shields combines geometric patterns and a love of colour in her traditional woven textiles. She puts a big emphasis on high-quality materials, craftsmanship, and a small-scale, sustainable production. She is known for her playful approach to colour and her masterful fusion of traditional and contemporary methods in weaving. For Heather, the loom not only serves as a tool for making but also as an integral design tool. Having graduated from the Glasgow School of Art in 2010, she currently works part-time as a weave technician, passing the knowledge on to many apprentices. The artisan started her own workshop in 2014 on the West Coast of Scotland. All of Heather’s pieces are produced with a zero waste philosophy.

Ribb wall hanging
The Ribb wall hanging is handwoven from 100% merino wool in shades of teal and grey with pinstripes of bright pink. Exploring corded and ribbed constructions, each rib has been stuffed with wool adding an increased tactility to the cloth. The linear, repetitive patterns are inspired by shadows cast by the sun.
