Captivated by curves

  • • Fruzsina's work is inspired by the Möbius loop
  • • She’s fascinated by porcelain, but enjoys experimenting with other materials
  • • Her public furniture received the Architizer A+ Award

As a child Fruzsina Fülöp was an introvert, therefore she always found it easier to express herself through creating something with her hands than playing with words. She realised in her early teens that 3D is far more exciting for her than 2D, so she turned her attention from painting to sculpture. She graduated from the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in Budapest and for her masters she dreamt of a tableware collection which would be designed based on the current gastronomy trends. For this purpose she collaborated with a confectionery chef, and created porcelain dishes with delicate curves to explore how various dessert types may be served. “My ambition was to find the perfect harmony between food and wares. It’s almost as if I created the canvas for the chef to paint on it.”

LUCE | Finger food

With the creation of LUCE organic shells, Fruzsina Fülöp’s goal was to make porcelain serving at catering events more innovative and functional. The elements of the tableware family are comfortable in both right and left hand, allowing the guests to enjoy their time while either chatting in one place or walking around. The first elements of the tableware set are the finger food plates for welcoming guests.

MÖBIUS

Water is an integral part of Fruzsina Fülöp's design concept as the natural flow of water creates a spiral in the object. By rethinking the shape of a möbius, a form appears that gives the users an exciting experience on every side of the concrete object, which functions both as a sculpture and as a sink.

CALEO | Main dessert with sauce bowl

The intent of this project was to design a collection of porcelain tableware based on the current gastronomy trends while exploring the installation possibilities of various dessert types. The design method introduces form innovations, using the latest confectionery technologies. Fruzsina Fülöp's goal was to create a collection that specifically matches the programmes of gastronomic competitions and fine-dining events.
