Abstract organic weaving
- • Carla brings her Sardinian heritage into her rugs and tapestry pieces

An artisan with great ambitions for her future, Carla Cabiddu is an Italian tapestry weaver based in the UK, in a small town close to the Welsh border. Her tapestries and rugs are entirely designed and hand-woven by her using a tapestry loom that she built herself, and a floor loom. She is planning to get a new, larger loom, in order to express her creativity on a larger scale. Many of her creations convert into contemporary designs the memories of her native region, Sardinia, which she left many years ago. Rocks and landscapes, as well as daily objects and ordinary tools from her childhood, come alive as irregular shapes, abstract yet able to evoke the spirit of the Mediterranean.
