Shoes for stars

  • • Attila is an award-winning shoemaker
  • • Traditional Hungarian motifs meet with innovative materials
  • • His shoes are in demand from famous figures

Attila Kovacs is one of the foremost shoemakers in the region. With a star-studded clientele which once included James Bond star Roger Moore, Attila’s craftmanship speaks for itself. Raising the profile of Hungarian craftsmanship to the international playing field, Attila draws on the historic Transylvanian bootmaking tradition as the third-generation shoemaker of his family. A master of the Goodyear Welt technique, Attila’s work combines his visionary design with outstanding attention to detail to produce an exceptional end product. In particular, his use of unique materials from the skin of various aquatic species such as crocodiles, stingray, eel, sturgeon and lizards set his work apart. Despite his innovative methods, his work retains traditional qualities through the incorporation of Hungarian motifs.
