This necklace consists of 16 strands of knotted glass tubes in eight different colours. The strands are unevenly joined together to create different angles when the necklace is worn. The technique used for knotting the tubes, with cord, is the same as for knotting pearls.

A colourful world

What defines the work of glass jewellery maker Ann Cox is its vibrant colours. “I am always bursting with all kinds of ideas for new creations, with everyday activities as an inexhaustible source of inspiration, but colour is the one element that always comes back,” she says. “I see colour as a spark of joie de vivre that I love to share with others.” Her style also reflects certain architectural characteristics. “People often ask me if I studied architecture, which I understand, but I haven’t actually. I found my style by experimenting with different types of designs and by truly being attentive to everything around me, all the different colours and textures.” Ann started her own brand in 2014 and you can now find her designs all over the world.

For this necklace, glass tubes were sawn in a trapezoid shape. Half of the tubes are gilded with yellow gold, the other half with white gold. The pieces are strung together, with the thickest ones in the middle and the thinner ones at the back to improve wearability.

Twin
This necklace consists of 14 strands of knotted glass tubes. The left side of the necklace is knotted on white cord, the right on black cord. Each side is folded double in the middle, which creates a point in the front that connects the white and black sides. The technique used for knotting the tubes with cord is the same as for knotting pearls.

These earrings consist of two interlocking triangles, each formed by three glass tubes. The Fuchsia coloured cords are threaded through them and knotted together at the top. The earrings are reminiscent of bows and arrows.

Big Splash
These earrings consist of 10 glass tubes of different lengths. Each tube is strung with a different coloured cord. The tubes are knotted tightly together at the top so they stick out in different directions. These earrings are reminiscent of drops of water splashing around.
