The allure of repetition
- • Mădălina launched her studio, De Ceramică, in 2013

- • She loves making minimalist objects with line patterns
Mădălina Teler discovered the beauty of ceramics at a young age. She was ten years old when she first took art classes, and what at that time simply seemed like a fun activity later turned into a long-term commitment. She studied ceramics at high school and university, before enriching her artistic knowledge at the Sorbonne in Paris, where she spent a year. After returning to Romania, she took a master's in interior design and learned about the way people integrate ceramics into their living spaces. Mădălina loves decorative architectural elements and has a real passion for lines and the repetition process of drawing one line after another. The act of applying this pattern process to minimalist objects plays a therapeutic role for Mădălina.

These cups are part of the Little by Little collection. The main features of this collection are carefully drawn lines in vivid colours and elegant shapes. The underglaze pattern on these cups creates a strong contrast to the white porcelain. Each piece is made using the slip casting technique and coated in transparent ceramic glaze. The ceramic materials used are non-toxic, food safe and dishwasher safe.

Duo cups
This pair of porcelain cups forms part of a collection that explores the combination of two ceramic materials, porcelain and stoneware. The pure white porcelain sits alongside the rough, yet warm coloured stoneware, making these cups quite an experience to touch and view.

Sand cups
Sand is a collection of objects with a glossy glazed finish on the inside and a sandy appearance on the outside. This cup, like the other objects in this series, is double slip cast. The inside has a fine, smooth porcelain finish, while the outside has a rugged, matt appearance given by the stoneware.
