I have degrees in ceramic and glass design and glassblowing. I was dreaming of a career as an architect, but I also wanted to do something with my hands. An encounter with glass was decisive. I’ve tried to learn everything about it and worked for a glass furnace assisting some glass masters.

I do not make precise plans or drawings. I just make quick sketches to decide the direction. Then I have consultations and discussions with other glassblowers. Usually the best results are achieved by trying out different things and approaching the material from a new angle.

In 2010, with six other glassblowers we founded a cooperative, Lasismi. We bought equipment from an old master and now sell our products and services. Recently, we also set up an association, Spekulo. It spreads knowledge and organises workshops and events.

Glass fascinates me with its endless possibilities for unique visual effects. And, because as a material it is difficult, it is a constant challenge. Then when you succeed in harnessing its qualities, the feeling and satisfaction is enormous. Glass represents absolute beauty.
