This blue shade ceramic skull results from a collaboration with artist Elena Rodríguez. It draws from the Spanish Baroque traditions that allude to death as the ultimate fate of every human being, and our obligation to live in the moment (Carpe Diem).

The narrow neck of this traditionally shaped jug allows the user to pour its content out in a controlled manner while limiting evaporation. Its green colour, characteristic of the Hispano-Arabic tradition, was salvaged by Juan Martínez Villacañas (Tito’s father).

The name of this piece refers to the role these jugs used to play on carts, traditionally pulled by animals, in providing water to passengers during their journey. The anthropomorphic ornament on the jug, an ode to life, the strength of desire and pleasure, is characteristic of Juan Pablo.
