On 6 October 1967 a cosmopolitan intellectual called Ida Bazzi, passionate about design and architecture, founded a pioneering all-handle shop in central Rome, close to the world-famous Spanish steps. The philosophy of the shop was to “produce Italian handmade objects, that translate great artisanal quality and have the highest consideration for customer needs.” More than 50 years later, the shop has moved to a new address, still close to the Spanish steps, and Poignee Fabrique Creative has become a manufacturer able to deliver a much larger variety of products and services. The philosophy of the historical shop is still the same thanks to Roberta Borra Cinque, who runs the family business through preserving and enhancing her mother’s ethos.
