Starting from her boutique next to St Mark’s Square, where her fashion collection is displayed, the journey will continue in her Atelier: here more than 1,500 period costumes are treasured and you will dive into the world of the legendary “Ballo del Doge”. The tour ends in the workshop, where you will see a velvet-printing demonstration.

The designer of a fantasy world of VeniceAntonia Sautter is a Venice-based fashion designer and luxury event organiser whose mission as a luxury artisan has been centred around the “handmade in Venice” designation for over 30 years. After debuting in the fashion world in New York, she came back to her native city – Venice – and opened the Atelier Antonia Sautter Creations & Events in the historic centre of Venice. Antonia is the creator and creative director of the renowned Gala Il Ballo del Doge, the most exclusive masquerade ball in the world, creating a world of the fantastic with costumes, theatrical design and stories. From her 1,500 custom-made period and fantasy costumes to fashion pieces such as bags, masks, headpieces, shoes, kimonos, home décor and hand-printed fabrics, her Atelier has it all. Antonia’s pieces – mostly made out of velvet and silk – merge traditional techniques and styles of all eras with her unique style and contemporaneity. Her costumes have also been used for theatre and film productions.
