Conference: Ca' di Dio 2.0 by Agata Brusegan

A conference held by Agata Brusegan, art historian, Conservator and Head of the IPAV Heritage Enhancement Service, to discover the history of Ca' di Dio through archival documents, images and memories. Located on Riva degli Schiavoni, facing the lagoon and the island of San Giorgio, its origins date back to 1272. At first a shelter for pilgrims on their way to the Holy Land, then hospice for women in need, Ca’ di Dio was renovated in the mid-sinteenth century on projects by Jacopo Sansovino. Finally refurbished by the Studio Urquiola, it reopened in 2021 as a luxury resort: a long history of ospitality in many different ways.

Hotel Ca' di Dio

The elegant Venetian five-star hotel that blends history with modernityCa' di Dio is an elegant Venetian five-star hotel that captures the spirit of the city, blending history with modernity. It’s located in a privileged position, at the entrance to the Arsenale area, the “Contemporary Art District”, taking advantage of the appeal of Biennale, one of the most prestigious international Art and Architecture exhibitions. Unique in its kind, the building housing Ca’ di Dio, with a strong history of hospitality, has been subject to an important refurbishment: in 2019, Alpitour Group acquired it, entrusting the interior design project and art direction to the world-renowned Studio run by architect Patricia Urquiola, wishing to create an original concept of the Venetian "home", in a deep connection with the fabric of the city. The timeless beauty of an oasis conceived in 1272 keeps its ancient splendour, thanks to a blend of materials and details inspired by the local territory: small local artisan companies were selected to ensure a strong link with traditions that offer excellent products.
