A collection of ancient lace pieces
40 minutes Max 6 peopleFreeVisitors of the Martina Vidal Atelier in Burano can book a free guided tour of their exquisite museum of rare and ancient lace pieces created in the 17th, 18th and 20th centuries on the small island of the Venetian lagoon. Tablecloths, table covers, centre-pieces, collars, linen, handkerchiefs, fans and wedding veils which used to decorate prestigious European palaces and adorn ladies and knights are on display a dedicated area of the Palazzo dei Pittori. The museum collection is completed by some modern creations of the lace makers who today continue to keep this ancient craft alive in the Martina Vidal Atelier. Guided tours can be booked from 10:30 to 17:00 every day.
