The Florentine tradition of silk weaving
40-60 minutes Max 15 people100 euros per personAntico Setificio Fiorentino is one of the last remaining workshops for silk manufacturing in the world. Originally founded in 1786, today as in the past, its six hand-operated 18th-century looms and its six semi-mechanical 19th-century looms weave dreams following Florentine tradition, embellished by a wondrous warper based on a design by Leonardo Da Vinci. The visit to the workshop is accompanied by an explanation of the history and the different stages of processing and a subsequent visit to the showroom with an explanation of the fabrics and some of the most interesting works carried out in recent years. The entrance fee is reduced for each purchase in the sales room exceeding 300 euros.
