Basic weaving course

80 hours 2-6 people1600 euros per person

This four weeks course provides an introduction to become confident at handweaving on table looms. Two new techniques are taught per week. A comprehensive list of weaving skills is taught through theory and practice, spread out over four weeks, amongst which various weaving techniques, dressing the loom, Finnish Raanu, and colour theory through to fabric analysis and band weaving. Each week progresses in level and skills, and once the four weeks are completed, the weaver can specialise in multi-shaft, ethnic, tapestry or rug weaving. This course is nine hours a day for five days during four separate weeks (it is possible to take the course in four consecutive weeks or spread out over a longer period). At the end of each week, the novice weaver takes home two woven items.
