Learn about the different weaving looms

40 minutes Max 10 peopleFree

A guided tour leads visitors through the atelier, offering the chance to see five different weaving looms. Learn where linen fabric production begins, how much time and patience it takes to make a flax fibre out of a flax seed, which eventually turns into a thread. Have the opportunity to see weaving looms from different time periods: a 150 year old Lithuanian loom, restored and still fully functioning, an iron weaving loom from the Soviet Times which has been used for weaving souvenirs at the Vilnius Art Combine, and a contemporary weaving loom, reconstructed by the students of Vilnius Academy of Fine Arts according to historical sources.
