Matilde, Pilar, Silvia
The three vases hand-blown by Venini are the result of Daniel Santamaria’s investigation of geometric shapes. Each vase is composed of two elements: the outside glass (transparent), and the inner vault (opaque). The aim of this project is to reflect the contrast and tension between shapes, which is one of the most important characteristics of Daniel’s floral work as well. In fact, he has created this volatile arrangement to highlight the contrast between the strong geometrical shape of the vases and the organic and delicate flowers.

These floral installations are a tribute to the three most important women in Daniel Santaria's life: Matilde, Pilar and Silvia; his two grandmothers and his mother. The flower designer has always been strongly influenced by these women in his work and personal life. They have contributed to building the artist that he has become now.
Another important thing in this work is the powerful use of colour. Daniel selected these different colours from the Venini variety: vases in red and blue on one side, that combined becomes purple - as the third vase.
This is one of the most intimate and personal works of the artist, that perfectly gathers the heritage of his family and, his perception of the geometric shapes and the subtlety of the flowers.
