Kōan

The handcrafted object is made from glass remelted in mould, cut, polished, and assembled with a stainless metal plate. The simple, minimalistic form might be influenced by Josef's long stay in Japan as a visiting professor at Toyama Institute of Glass Art.

This form creates an unreal depth of space; the optical deformations seen through the coloured glass as well as the reflections of light from the stainless metal plate complete the illusion of the apparent existence of a 3D object.
