Fenice 1

The gracefully curved sculpture is hand-blown using avventurina, an extremely difficult Murano glass-blowing technique from the 17th century, which combines metal shavings and molten glass. Fenice (Phoenix) is named after the Teatro La Fenice - a historic building in Venice that has burned down and been rebuilt three times throughout its long history, like a phoenix rising from its ashes time and again.
