Sipho Khwebula Twala

Khwebula ArtsCarpenter

Khwebula Arts was founded in 2019 by South African furniture designer and craftsman, Sipho Khwebula Twala. His career began in 2013 as a carpenter making cabinets. An encounter with a leading local furniture maker led to a job as a CNC operator, inspiring Sipho to further develop his furniture designing and manufacturing skills. The Khwebula Arts carpentry workshop, made up of highly skilled craftsmen, produces solid wood functional furniture characterised by clean finishes and exceptional joinery. Sipho has developed a design aesthetic that is a refreshing fusion of free thought infused with Scandinavian and African design influences. Combining craftsmanship with modern technology, Sipho thrives on pushing the design envelope and exploring what the African continent has to offer.

Story

Passionate about furniture design and manufacture, Khwebula Arts' main objective is to become part of the growing number of brands that are helping to develop and improve the furniture design and manufacturing industry across Africa by designing and producing high-quality furniture pieces, which can stand the test of time in terms of durability and aesthetics.
