Anne Hoguet comes from a family of fan makers; her great-grandfather founded his workshop in 1879. She started her career in 1960 when her father bought a fan workshop located on 2 Boulevard de Strasbourg in Paris, where the artisan still works to this day. Anne was trained by the last artisans of the maison Ernest Kees, which specialised in fan making. In 1994 she was nominated Maître d'art by the French Ministry of Culture. The master fan maker now creates pieces for theatre, opera, the film industry and high fashion.
